Good video – you came across well. You have no choice now but to get a second allotment somewhere – one that has hints of paleolithic or iron age – ie. lots and lots of history!!!
Sorry that you won’t find signs of a Neanderthal gardener in Horfield.

I find the land history and use of an area really fascinating. Local archives can be a valuable resource and endlessly diverting once you’re on the right track! I’ve subscribed to the channel and will look forward to reading/seeing what you find out.

Hi Lia, Thanks for sharing your film. It made me wonder about the history of our allotment site in Cardiff. I am the site secretary here so I should be able to get some info via the Council. I am very interested in the way people use their plots and how the plants grown have changed over time. I saw something written a while ago saying that allotments must be some of the most productive areas around which is a nice idea in theory. In practice most plot holders don’t seem to have the time to really work their plots efficiently. But then they should also be a place for relaxation and I do get a lot of artistic inspiration from my plot. I will be interested to see how your project develops.
