We have some curtains on our french doors that are slightly longer than the drop. (This was deliberate - although I have no idea why...). I open the curtains; job done. Wellywoman opens the curtains; then folds the bottoms of them neatly so they are all pleated in straight lines. About a year after we got the curtains, she told me that after I have opened the curtains she will then tidy them up. She said she never bothered telling me that she did this because, whilst it is important to her that they are this way, she knows it's not to me, so since it her thing she didn't expect me to do it.
That for me, makes her a keeper!

But it's not perfect! There's a kink in the one in the middle! I thought you of all people... I also love hanging clothes on the line, and am quite particular about how I do this. Man, I'm far more uptight than I'd ever imagined.

Nice folding job, it's worth taking time to do jobs that will perpetually irritate you if they're not done just how you want them. Exciting to have a new polytunnel! Jill

Good work Lia. Totally with you when it comes to making a tidy job in a situation like that.

Funnily enough when I saw the picture you tweeted of the covered polytunnel I noticed how neatly you had pleated the folds around the door. I looked and looked to see if there was one fold that was a bit duff to comment on - but no, they were all marvellous.

I'm afraid that I am not a folder. In my teens when OldMaSock was attempting to bring me up as a 'good housewife' I was told what a useless waste of space I was for failing to hang the socks on the washing line properly! There is a 'right' way to do this? who knew? Who cared?! Not me - I wouldn't dream of hanging socks on the line to dry, it's a waste of life. I either tumble them or cram them on the radiators. if I ever looked behind the radiators there would be socks there.

I'm not sure now how this relates to folding.. I expect making bunting comes under the same syndrome.
